What this checklist covers

Confirm DNS backup process exists and runs automatically
Verify backups include all record types (A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, NS, SRV)
Confirm backups are stored off-platform (not only within the DNS provider)
Test restoration from backup โ€” can you re-import records within 30 minutes?
Review access controls on DNS management accounts
Enable MFA on registrar and DNS provider accounts
Review TTL values โ€” are they low enough for fast rollback?
Document the recovery path if the DNS provider becomes unavailable
